SkyDeck™ as a Lighting Bridge at Everyman Palace Theatre
Cork, Ireland
As part of the National Development Plan 2007 – 2013 “Transforming Ireland,” the Everyman Palace Theatre closed its doors between August 3rd and September 15th of 2008 to make improvements to the technical theatre equipment and to install new seating enhancing the audience’s experience.
The Everyman Palace Theatre, originally known as the Cork Palace of Varieties, reflects its Victorian style in its interior. A very impressive ornate proscenium arch, boxes and balcony, and ceiling are composed of decorative plasterwork. In 2003, the 111 year old Victorian building underwent a restoration to revamp the interior to its original former glory.
As part of the latest (2008) refurbishment, Hall Stage, provided a SkyDeck tension wire grid system serving as a FOH lighting bridge. Standard 1m x 2 1/2m panels work together to make up the bridge. Hall Stage, Ltd and InterAmerica Stage, Inc. are the European and American companies that presently contract and provide SkyDeck wire tension grid systems. Mark Black of InterAmerica Stage, says that working with Hall Stage is “in every way a pleasure, they provide top quality services and equipment, and are nice folk to boot!”
