Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts
Columbia, MO
InterAmerica Stage announces the opening of the newly restored Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts. With a heavy production calendar the center required the ability to quickly and safely access the high steel over the stage but faced the tremendous expense brought by adding a traditional grid or catwalk system to the 80 year old theatre. InterAmerica assisted in solving this challenge with a SkyDeck tension wire grid.
Technicians can now access the high steel in this building without the need for high reach equipment. Further, the building was able to retain the majority of its original structure and flyspace due to the light weight, strength and loading capacity of the SkyDeck, all for a price that is less than a traditional grid or catwalk system.
One big benefit the theater will enjoy is the long term savings in labor. Technicians will be able to access the most difficult parts of the theater quickly and easily. This will lead to lower labor rates and faster setup and strike times; all important things that will save the Center tremendous amounts of money until their next renovation in 80 years or so!
